Silver clay and copper clay are very fine particles of metal mixed with a binder to make them mouldable, like clay. Using a variety of techniques you make your piece. Then it’s dried, sanded and fired with a blowtorch.
It is then 99.9% silver or copper. The silver can be hallmarked 999, which is fine silver. This is more silver than Sterling silver.
After firing, the metal is sanded and polished, ready for wearing.
